Very Rare is a series of GIFs composed of images found on pet shops websites. In online stores, clients can buy exotic pets and even have them delivered to their homes, like products in a box. In the United States, for instance, it is believed that more exotic animals live in homes than are cared for in zoos. Pets labeled as very rare tend to be more attractive for those who wish to increase their social value through owning something perceived valuable by its rarity.
One of the GIFs in the series displays images of Axolotls that can glow under ultraviolet light, lab-modified animals that have a gene that produces GFP (green fluorescent protein).
